Xabi Lam was born on March 9, 2000 in Senegal. His family moved to Italy when he was one year old, where he lived in the city of Chivasso in northern Italy in a public housing complex. He grew up in a simple working-class family and has three siblings.

Silent TikToker Khabi Lam studied in Italian schools until the age of 14, before his parents sent him for a while to a Quranic school near the Senegalese capital, Dakar.
The beginning of his fame
The silent African TikToker worked several simple jobs before fame, most notably as a CNC machine operator in a factory near the Italian city of Turin, where he participated in assembling car filters. He also worked as a waiter and window cleaner, before losing his job in March 2020 with the start of the Corona pandemic.

The silent African TikToker, Khabi, began his journey on the TikTok app in March 2020 during the coronavirus lockdown, initially posting ordinary videos of himself dancing or playing video games, before later turning to satirical comedy content in which he criticized what are known as complicated life hacks that are widespread on the internet.
Blogger Khaby adopted a silent style based on sarcastic facial expressions and simple hand gestures, while offering easy and logical solutions, which made him close to the global audience in different languages and cultures, to the point that many likened him to the world artist Charlie Chaplin in the digital age.

During 2021, his career witnessed a major turning point, after he surpassed a number of TikTok celebrities, as he surpassed Gianluca Vacchi in April 2021, then Addison Rae in July of the same year, before becoming the second person in TikTok history to reach 100 million followers after Charley D'Amelio.
On June 23, 2022, TikToker Khabi Lam officially became the most followed person on TikTok in the world, surpassing Charley D'Amelio, with 160 million followers, more than 80 million on Instagram, and billions of likes and views on his videos.

His style and influence on social media
The silent African TikToker became famous for videos in which he mocks people who complicate simple daily tasks, showing someone performing complicated steps, then Khaby appears to offer the easy solution in a sarcastic way, and ends the video with his famous hand gesture and his well-known look at the camera.

Thanks to the success of the great silent African TikToker, he collaborated with global brands, signed a partnership with the international fashion house Hugo Boss, and was chosen as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
In 2022, TikToker Khabi Lam officially obtained Italian citizenship, after many years of living in Italy without citizenship, and at the time he expressed his great pride in this step.
On a personal level, Xavi announced his engagement to Zaira Nocchi in October 2020. He is also known for his love of football and his support for the Italian club Juventus.

Multiple reports indicate that Xabi Lam's wealth is estimated at millions of dollars as a result of advertising, commercial sponsorships and profits from social media platforms. He also owns a luxurious home in Chivasu City that includes a tennis court, a swimming pool and several luxury cars.
Recently, TikToker Khaby entered into one of the biggest deals for digital content creators, after completing a deal estimated at $900 million with Rich Sparkle Holdings, which acquired the rights to use his image, voice, and artificial intelligence technologies to produce content, advertisements, and multilingual live streaming.

Media reports also sparked widespread controversy after it was reported that Xavi was briefly detained inside the US airport in Las Vegas due to visa issues, before being released without any criminal charges.
In 2025, a rumor spread that Xabi Lam had died in a car accident, after some pages circulated fabricated photos of a car accident, before it became clear that this news was false at the time.

Xabi Lam’s success story began with losing his job during the coronavirus pandemic, where he transformed into one of the most famous content creators in the world, confirming that silence can sometimes be more powerful than words.
