The president of South announced Africa Cyril Ramaphosa has suspended National Police Commissioner Fanny Massimola as a precautionary measure, following allegations of involvement in irregularities related to a 2024 police health services tender valued at approximately $20 million. The decision comes as part of a broad investigation into senior police leadership.
The top echelon of the police force was thrown into turmoil, with several senior officials, including the police minister and the deputy commissioner, being suspended or referred for investigation.
