Museveni receives Sisi in Uganda to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni received his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on an official visit to Uganda to hold talks aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and advancing joint action in a way that serves African interests.

President Sisi arrived in Uganda at the start of an official visit, where he was received at Entebbe International Airport by Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Special Envoy for Special Missions in the Office of the Ugandan President.

Uganda and Egypt are linked by close historical and geographical ties, foremost among them the Nile River, which represents a shared natural heritage that calls for cooperation based on mutual respect and joint development.

President Sisi’s visit provides an important opportunity to deepen the dialogue between the two countries on key issues including water, agriculture, and energy, as well as issues related to regional stability and strengthening African integration.
