High-level roundtable meeting

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center hosted Namibia’s Bank of Namibia Governor, Epson Awanguta, at a high-level U.S.-Namibia roundtable on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings.
The purpose of this meeting was to promote dialogue, strengthen economic ties, and enhance cooperation between the business communities of the United States of America and Namibia.
Bilateral cooperation between the United States and Namibia
The closed-door executive dialogue brought together an elite group of business thought leaders, senior government officials, and partners from both countries.
The discussion focused on opportunities to strengthen and support bilateral cooperation between the United States of America and Namibia.
During the roundtable, Governor Awanguta had the opportunity to participate in a frank conversation about current ways to advance the mutual interests that are essential for trade, investment and economic growth.
Strengthening economic partnerships and enhancing investment opportunities
The roundtable also provided an opportunity for members of the US private sector to interact with Namibian officials and all stakeholders to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening the economic partnership and promoting investment opportunities between the two countries.
The dialogue focused on key topics such as macroeconomic policy and public finance, the financial sector and capital markets, regulatory coordination, development of projects under preparation and risk reduction.
