Growing interest from 400 companies representing 90 countries to participate in the event

Chamber of Commerce organized DjiboutiIn cooperation with the Ministry Delegate in charge of Investments and Private Sector Development, and in partnership with the International Organization of the Francophonie, a media and awareness meeting was held this morning as part of the preparations for the seventh session of the Francophonie Economic Mission, scheduled to be held in the Republic of Djibouti from 6 to 8 October 2026.

This event aimed to inform economic actors about the importance of this high-level economic event and to encourage them to actively participate in it.

The Francophonie economic mission will highlight five promising sectors with significant potential for growth and investment: renewable energy, transport and logistics, digitalization and innovation, health, and sustainable tourism.
To date, some 400 companies from 90 countries across five continents have expressed interest in participating in this international economic event.
This mission is a valuable opportunity for Djiboutian institutions to build international business partnerships, explore new prospects for cooperation and investment, and enhance their integration within the economic networks of the Francophone space.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Youssouf Moussa Daoulieh, President of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Mariam Hamadou Ali, Minister Delegate in charge of Investments and Private Sector Development, in the presence of a number of officials, members of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the private sector.

The President of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce affirmed that Djibouti's hosting of this event for the first time represents a strategic opportunity to support the national private sector, promote entrepreneurship, create business and employment opportunities, and enhance the attractiveness of the national economy. He also encouraged Djiboutian economic institutions to register through the International Organization of the Francophonie platform.
For her part, the Minister Delegate stressed that the Francophone economic mission represents an important opportunity to highlight Djibouti’s economic potential and consolidate its position as a regional center for trade and investment.
Alice Oberon, representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie, also gave a presentation on the registration platform and the practical procedures for joining the mission.
By hosting this event for the first time, Djibouti affirms its ambition to make the Francophonie Economic Mission a platform for promoting sustainable economic partnerships and driving shared development.
