President Abdel Fattah met SisiToday, with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Lieutenant General Ahmed El Shazly, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President was briefed during the meeting on the main work axes regarding the current executive status of the comprehensive health insurance system, the levels of progress in automating the system, in addition to the latest developments and preparations for the pilot operation of the system in Minya Governorate.
The Minister of Health and Population pointed out that the comprehensive health insurance system represents a model of health justice and community solidarity, through building a health system based on quality, sustainability and fairness in service provision, noting the success achieved in implementing the first phase of the system, and pointing to the ongoing preparations to start implementing the second phase.

In this regard, the President stressed the need for every medical facility to be medically, technically and administratively ready before its opening, in order to provide a health service befitting the citizens, stressing the importance of accelerating the completion of the automation of the comprehensive health insurance system, and the application of an integrated national digital health system that achieves integration and interdependence of health information and data management to ensure operational and spending efficiency, while supporting artificial intelligence applications in health facilities.
Review of the implementation status of projects to establish, develop and improve the efficiency of a number of health facilities
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the meeting reviewed the executive status of projects to establish, develop and improve the efficiency of a number of health and medical facilities across the country, and the time programs set for the completion of these projects, including developments in the establishment of the New Alamein Hospital, Ras El Hekma Hospital, Nile Medical City, Nile Children’s Hospital, the Central Laboratories in Badr, and Qalawun Eye Hospital, in addition to projects in the North, Central and South Upper Egypt region.
In this context, the President emphasized the importance of strengthening integration between government agencies, the private sector, and strategic partners to implement national projects and achieve the goals of the state's vision for developing the health sector. The meeting also addressed developments related to the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, with the President approving a proposal to improve salaries within the Authority. The Minister of Health and Population also presented an overview of the current status of ambulances and the ambulance fleet in Egypt.
The official spokesperson explained that the meeting also included a review of the latest developments in the implementation of the Nile Medical City development project, in addition to a proposal to implement the project for a city of hospitals and educational research and training institutes in the new capital, which aims to establish an integrated medical city that includes hospitals, research and training centers, in order to contribute to improving health services provided to citizens, providing high-quality health care, as well as supporting medical tourism.
The Minister of Health and Population indicated that the project aims to be a leading medical center in advanced treatment services, medical research, training, and education. He noted that several proposals have been submitted by various international companies to implement this project, and all these proposals are being reviewed in accordance with the Egyptian state's objectives in the healthcare sector in general. The Minister also reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the "Nile National Center of Excellence in Medical Education" project, the first Egyptian center for medical simulation, excellence, and learning, within the framework of the strategy to develop medical education and clinical training using the latest global simulation technologies.

The official spokesperson stated that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed investment opportunities in healthcare and mechanisms to support local manufacturing, as the President stressed the need to focus on providing an attractive and supportive investment environment for quality investments in the health sector, based on a strategic vision aimed at localizing medical industries, expanding the scope of specialized healthcare, and supporting self-sufficiency.
The President stressed the need to continue working to improve the efficiency and availability of health and medical services for all citizens across the country, through advanced health facilities and centers that include the latest medical equipment and devices.
