Egyptian-Algerian cooperation to enhance the exchange of expertise in technical education and vocational training

Mohammed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education, held a meeting witheducation The Minister of Technical Education met with Nassima Arhab, Minister of Vocational Training and Education of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, to discuss ways to support joint cooperation and exchange experiences between the two countries in the fields of technical education and vocational training, within the framework of strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the fields of vocational education and training, and as a continuation of his intensive bilateral meetings with his counterparts participating in the Mediterranean Countries’ Technical and Vocational Education Forum.

 

Sharing experiences to support the development of qualified human resources

The meeting witnessed extensive discussions on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of technical education and vocational training, and the exchange of experiences and successful practices that contribute to the development of systems for preparing and qualifying human resources in accordance with the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the Egyptian experience in developing the pre-university education system, and the reforms it has witnessed, especially in the technical education sector, which is one of the main pillars in the Egyptian state’s strategy to build a qualified and competitive human capital.

The minister also discussed the ministry’s efforts to update curricula according to professional competency standards, and to expand the establishment of applied technology schools in partnership with the private sector and development partners, in order to ensure the provision of high-quality technical education that is directly linked to the needs of the labor market, and contributes to preparing graduates who possess the required technical and technological skills.

The minister pointed to the importance of the international and regional partnerships that Egypt is implementing in the field of technical education, stressing that these partnerships represent a fundamental pillar for transferring expertise and applying the best global practices, as well as providing greater opportunities for practical training and employment for graduates.

For her part, the Minister of Vocational Training and Education of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria expressed her hope to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences between the two sides during the next stage in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly countries.

Both sides also affirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and joint cooperation, and exchanging experiences and successful practices in the fields of technical education.

Vocational training contributes to supporting sustainable development efforts and preparing generations qualified to meet the demands of the future.
