The Chinese capital, Beijing, hosted the “Africa Day 2026” celebrations, in an atmosphere that reflected the depth of the growing relations between China and African countries, amid broad participation from African ambassadors, Chinese officials, diplomats, cultural experts, and representatives of economic and media institutions.

The events were attended by prominent official and diplomatic figures, and the speeches delivered during the celebration emphasized the importance of the China-Africa partnership in light of global economic and political challenges, with a focus on strengthening cooperation in the areas of development, infrastructure, trade, investment, technology, education and culture.

Officials at the event stressed that relations with the African continent represent one of the main pillars of Chinese foreign policy, noting that Beijing continues to support development efforts in African countries through joint cooperation initiatives, infrastructure projects, training programs and knowledge transfer, in addition to promoting trade and investment exchange between the two sides.

Supporting African development
For their part, a number of African ambassadors praised the Chinese role in supporting development on the continent, stressing that cooperation with China has contributed to the implementation of many vital projects in the transport, energy, industry and communications sectors, as well as supporting human development, education and vocational training efforts in many African countries.
The “Africa Day 2026” celebrations included cultural and artistic performances that reflected the civilizational diversity of the African continent, with musical and theatrical segments and exhibitions of African heritage, along with events to introduce the traditional cuisines and local cultures of the participating African countries, within the framework of promoting popular and cultural rapprochement between the African and Chinese peoples.
During the events, participants also discussed the future of Sino-African cooperation in light of rapid international changes, stressing the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation, supporting sustainable development, and achieving common interests, especially with the growing economic and trade relations between China and the African continent in recent years.
The celebration of “Africa Day” in Beijing comes to confirm the continued momentum of Sino-African relations, especially within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which has become a major platform to support political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two sides.
Expanding Sino-African relations
