The current edition of the Confederation Cup continues. African For the 2025-2026 season, the tournament is organized by the Confederation of African Football as the second most important continental club competition after the Champions League.

In contrast, USM Alger secured their place in the final after a tough match against Olympique Safi, during which the Algerian team displayed defensive solidity and tactical discipline that enabled them to reach the final stage of the tournament.

The Confederation Cup is based on a group system followed by a knockout stage, which gives clubs multiple opportunities to prove their tactical and physical worth throughout the season. This system has added more excitement, especially with the away goal rule in case of a draw, which pushes teams to adopt offensive methods even away from home.

This technical balance between the participating clubs reflects a clear development in the level of competition, as the championship is no longer exclusive to certain names, but has become an open arena for teams that have a real ambition to make history.

The current edition of the tournament has witnessed a remarkable development in the value of the financial prizes allocated to the clubs, as part of CAF’s efforts to enhance the financial stability of the participating teams and support the infrastructure of African football.

The African football community is awaiting a heavyweight final showdown between Zamalek and USM Alger, in a home-and-away format, in a clash that combines Egyptian experience with Algerian ambition.
