Somalia declares official mourning for the death of the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

أعلنت وزارة الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة الصومالية، القرار الصادر عن رئيس جمهورية الصومال الفيدرالية، الدكتور حسن شيخ محمود، بإعلان الحداد الرسمي على وفاة الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، الذي وافته المنية عن عمر ناهز 74 عاماً.
The Ministry clarified in a statement that the decision reflects the Somali leadership's appreciation for the high status the deceased enjoyed, honoring his career and contributions to supporting the Somali people. It also embodies the depth of the brotherly and historical relations between Somalia and the State of Qatar.
The statement added that the late prince was one of the most prominent supporters of Somalia at various stages, and that his death represents a loss for the Arab and Islamic worlds, praising the role he played in strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Federal Republic of Somalia offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the esteemed Al Thani family, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and the Qatari government and people, asking God to encompass the deceased with His vast mercy and grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and to inspire his family with patience and solace.
