Abdel-Magid explained in exclusive statements to “Zoom Africa News” on the Africa Day celebration at Cairo University that this celebration reflects the depth of cultural and scientific communication between a prestigious educational institution like Cairo University, with its deep roots in scientific history, and the scientific and cultural community throughout the African continent.

He pointed out that the event, which is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in coordination with scientific circles, is a successful model of “people’s diplomacy” that contributes to strengthening the bonds of trust and communication between African peoples, and supports the official paths of the Egyptian state in consolidating its continental relations.

Supporting trade exchange

The journalist concluded his remarks by emphasizing that this cultural and scientific momentum is inseparable from economic objectives, as this rapprochement contributes to creating a fertile environment for enhancing trade exchange between Egypt and its brothers in Africa, stressing that Egypt’s support for its African depth is a strategic choice that is evident in such major forums.

 

Celebrating Africa Day: The new capital welcomes African ambassadors accredited to Cairo

In a separate context, Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, received at the company’s headquarters a high-level delegation of ambassadors of African countries and members of the African diplomatic corps accredited to the Arab Republic of Egypt, coinciding with the celebration of Africa Day, and in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, and with the participation of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs.

The event was attended by more than 22 African ambassadors, along with about 40 members of African diplomatic missions in Cairo, on a visit aimed at learning about the integrated urban and developmental renaissance taking place in the new capital, and learning about what has been accomplished within the diplomatic quarter in terms of advanced infrastructure, facilities and services according to the latest international standards.

The meeting included a comprehensive review of the executive status of the New Capital project, and the advanced completion rates achieved in the areas of infrastructure, facilities, and services, in addition to a detailed presentation of the Diplomatic Quarter and its advanced capabilities and integrated services that make it a modern model for diplomatic areas at the regional and international levels.
