Cooperation between Egypt and the African Centre for the Provision of Medical Supplies and Vaccines

During the call, the Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the role played by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in supporting the continent’s health security system, noting that Egypt gives special priority to the health sector as one of the main pillars for achieving sustainable development in African countries.
Egypt's readiness to transfer its health expertise
Abdel-Aati explained Egypt’s readiness to continue transferring its advanced experiences and expertise in the health and pharmaceutical fields to African countries, in addition to supporting capacity-building programs and enhancing the response to emergency health challenges, which contributes to raising the efficiency of health systems and improving their ability to cope with crises and epidemics.
The Minister reviewed the existing cooperation between Egypt and the African Center in the areas of providing medical supplies and vaccines, and supporting continental integration efforts in the health sector, which enhances common health security and achieves a more effective response to cross-border challenges.
For his part, Dr. Jean Kasaya expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s continued support for the health sector in Africa, praising the role Egypt played in supporting countries affected by the Ebola outbreak, stressing that it was among the first countries to rush to provide the necessary medical and pharmaceutical assistance to confront the crisis.
The African Union's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) appreciates Egypt's role in promoting health security.
The Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention praised the Egyptian role in strengthening the health security system on the continent and supporting coordination efforts and collective response to epidemics and health emergencies, expressing his hope to continue cooperation and coordination with Egypt during the next phase in a way that serves the goals of public health and development in Africa.
The call reflects the keenness of both sides to strengthen the strategic partnership in the health field, and to support joint African efforts to build health systems that are more capable of facing future challenges.
