Mali possesses enormous mineral wealth, making it one of the leading African countries capable of bringing about a radical economic transformation, provided that these resources are exploited efficiently and directed towards local manufacturing and the development of sustainable infrastructure.

In the same context, Guinea possesses about 20 billion tons of bauxite and 5 billion tons of iron ore, which opens the door for Mali to attract investments in the mining sector, especially those that rely on developing railway networks and hydroelectric power plants, by offering a diverse range of mineral resources.

This infrastructure is a key element in making steel and metal plants economically viable and profitable, as their production is directed to global markets.

For example, Mali in the Keita and Keneba regions could promote a diversified investment portfolio that includes bauxite, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, platinum and lead.

It is worth noting that the construction of a large-scale iron ore steel plant in Keita could create approximately 3,000 indirect jobs. With three bauxite mines and several other mining sites, in addition to five hydroelectric dams, Mali's economic landscape is poised for a radical transformation.

The most prominent challenge remains achieving local manufacturing of natural resources, which is based on a development vision that rests on two main pillars: exploiting natural resources efficiently, and directing their returns towards promoting economic growth and achieving sustainable human development.
