Chadian police arrest 38 suspects in criminal cases in the capital N'Djamena
Charges of robbery with violence, extortion, and motorcycle theft

The Central Police Commission in Gardelet presented, today On Thursday, 38 people suspected of involvement in criminal activities were reported to the media, following a large-scale security operation carried out between July 5 and 16.
The detainees face charges related to several crimes, including robbery with violence, extortion, motorcycle theft, impersonation, illegal possession of military uniforms and equipment, fraud, as well as manufacturing and trading counterfeit currency.
Seizure of bladed weapons and motorcycles
The security campaign resulted in the seizure of a number of items, including bladed weapons, motorcycles, mobile phones, and large quantities of counterfeit currency.
Chief Police Commissioner Mon Eugene Dzombe praised the close cooperation between the National Police General Directorate, field units, the Ngeli border post, and citizens, stressing that this coordination played a crucial role in the success of the security operation.
He noted that all suspects underwent initial investigation before being referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the legal procedures.
In another context, the President of the Republic of Chad, Field Marshal Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, announced the cancellation of entry visas for all citizens of African countries, effective January 1, 2027, in a move aimed at strengthening continental integration and facilitating the free movement of individuals within the continent.
The announcement came during a speech delivered by the Chadian president at the opening of the African Water Forum in the capital, N'Djamena, on Wednesday, in the presence of a number of leaders, officials, experts and international partners.
Deby stressed that Chad, by virtue of its geographical location, represents a meeting point between the different regions of Africa, emphasizing his country’s commitment to supporting African unity and strengthening cooperation between the peoples of the continent.
The Chadian president said: “Chad is the crossroads of Africa, a bridge linking East and West, North and South, a land of welcome and integration, and a supporter of African unity.”
