Egypt and Djibouti: An expanding economic partnership through investment and trade.
New investment opportunities between Egypt and Djibouti

Chamber of Commerce organized Djibouti A morning economic event entitled “Egyptian Products for Business” was held, with the aim of promoting the opportunities and potential of Egyptian companies within the Djiboutian market, and opening new horizons for cooperation and joint investment between the two sides, within the framework of strengthening economic and trade relations between Egypt and Djibouti.
Egyptian-Djiboutian economic cooperation: opportunities and challenges
The event was held under the auspices of the President of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh, and with broad participation from economic and diplomatic figures, including the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Djibouti, Mr. Abdel Rahman Raafat Khattab, along with a number of Djiboutian businessmen, elected members of the Chamber, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country.

The event aimed to provide a practical platform to enhance trade exchange between Egypt and Djibouti, support bilateral economic cooperation, and encourage the establishment of sustainable partnerships between the private sector in the two countries, which would contribute to promoting economic growth and opening new markets for products and services.
The meeting witnessed the organization of bilateral B2B business meetings between Egyptian companies and their Djiboutian counterparts, where economic actors had the opportunity to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in a wide range of vital sectors, including agriculture and food industries, household appliances, vehicle manufacturing, storage infrastructure, building materials, energy solutions, automotive oils, furniture manufacturing, in addition to the textiles and ready-made garments sectors.
In his address at the event, Youssef Moussa Dawaleh emphasized Djibouti's strategic importance as a pivotal trade and logistics hub in the Horn of Africa, noting that this position gives it significant potential to attract investment and facilitate regional and international trade. He urged business leaders to capitalize on these opportunities to boost trade between the Egyptian and Djiboutian markets.
For his part, Egyptian Ambassador Abdel Rahman Raafat Khattab affirmed Cairo’s commitment to supporting and strengthening economic cooperation with Djibouti, noting Egypt’s readiness to develop joint investment projects, in addition to working to enhance the presence of Djiboutian products and companies in the Egyptian market through effective trade cooperation mechanisms.
The event concluded by emphasizing that the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce will continue to organize regular economic events aimed at supporting the private sector, encouraging bilateral partnerships, and promoting economic integration between Djibouti and its partners, foremost among them the Arab Republic of Egypt.
