Australian airline Qantas was forced to divert one of its flights to the United States after a passenger caused chaos on board, even assaulting a member of the cabin crew.

The flight had departed from Melbourne, Australia, bound for Dallas, USA, on Friday, before being forced to make an emergency landing in Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, due to the disruptive behavior of the passenger.

According to local media reports, including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the man bit a flight attendant during the flight, prompting several passengers to intervene and restrain him to control the situation.

Upon the plane’s arrival in Papeete, local authorities were waiting for the passenger to take the necessary measures against him, while Qantas decided to permanently ban him from traveling on all its flights.
