A morning run in Nairobi brings together Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge and Macron

Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge posted photos of himself with French President Emmanuel Macron, saying: “It was a pleasure today to take President Emmanuel Macron for a morning run in Nairobi, where we had the opportunity to talk about ways to provide greater support and wider opportunities for the next generation of African athletes.”.

The Kenyan runner commented on the tour: “Moments like this remind me that running is not just a movement, but a universal language that connects people, cultures, and ideas.” He thanked the president for the dialogue, the tour, and the shared vision for the future.

Eliud Kipchoge, 41, born on November 5, 1984, represented his country at the Olympics and won a silver and a bronze medal, and won the gold medal at the 2003 World Athletics Championships.

Macron emphasizes the importance of the Nairobi summit to strengthen the partnership

 

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kenya on Sunday, the second stop on his African tour which began in Egypt, on the eve of the Africa Forward Summit.

President Macron stressed the importance of the summit, which is being co-chaired by France and Kenya, emphasizing that it represents an opportunity to strengthen a renewed and balanced partnership between the two sides. In a post on the X4 platform upon his arrival in Nairobi, he said: “I am very excited to be arriving in Kenya, on the eve of the Africa Forward Summit. It is a summit dedicated to a renewed and mutually beneficial partnership. Let us give it our all here in Nairobi, because there is so much we can achieve together.”.

President Macron is scheduled to participate in the summit alongside Kenyan President William Ruto, where they will co-chair the proceedings on Monday and Tuesday in the capital, Nairobi.

This summit is the first of its kind to bring together leaders from the African continent since Macron took office in 2017, and it is also the first to be held in an English-speaking country.

The leaders participating in the Africa-France summit, hosted by the Kenyan capital, began arriving on Tuesday morning. NairobiWith broad participation from African heads of state and government, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Chairperson of the African Union, and a number of leaders of international financial institutions and development partners.
