
Angola is experiencing a sharp wave of the weather The volatile weather and heavy rains have caused the deaths of about 40 people, and a number of others are still missing.
According to local authorities, the heavy rains that hit the country have killed about 40 people so far and left dozens missing.

Heavy rains caused flash floods across the country, inundating streets and damaging homes in the capital Luanda and the coastal city of Benguela.
Officials in Angola reported that 13 people were killed in Luanda province, while the fate of five others remains unknown. In Benguela province, 26 people were killed and four are still missing.
Local reports also indicate that at least 6 people have died in the provinces of Kwanza Sul and Malangi as a result of the floods and heavy rains hitting the country.
Heavy rains also destroyed more than 600 homes in Luanda and Benguela, and floods inundated more than 9,500 properties across the country.

Local authorities also reported that more than 51,000 people have been affected by this wave of heavy rains, floods and torrents hitting the country.
Emergency teams in Angola are also working to drain water from homes and streets affected by the rains and floods, as well as distributing food and clean drinking water. Officials say the situation is gradually improving.
Heavy rainfall is common in southern Africa during the rainy season, but scientists warn that climate change caused by human activity is making these extreme weather events more frequent and intense. Rainfall is becoming more frequent and intense in these regions due to climate change, and is concentrated during the summer months (November–March) in most areas.
