The activities of the exhibition “The Picture Tells the Story of the Nation’s Resilience… Recovery and the Joy of Return” continue today, Monday, at the center Omdurman Cultural.

The exhibition, organized by the Sudanese Media Club, from June 27-29, witnessed increasing interest from executive leaders in the state, media outlets and satellite channels, as well as university students, voluntary associations and the public.

Khartoum witnesses its first photographic art exhibition in three years

The head of the Sudanese Media Club, Abdullah Bashir, announced in a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the event is being held with the participation of 13 Sudanese photographers and artists residing inside and outside the country. He explained that the organizing committee decided to extend the exhibition for an additional day, ending on Monday, June 29, to enable the largest possible number of interested people to visit the exhibition.

Bashir pointed out that the exhibition includes three main sections that reflect the memory of the homeland and the unforgettable features of the land, and a section entitled (In the Darkness of War), dedicated to documenting a part of the militia’s violations against citizens during its presence in Khartoum State, and a third section for scenes documenting the first moments of the entry of the armed forces and the cohesion with the citizens, in addition to a section dedicated to the return period entitled: Sudan of Tomorrow: The Will to Build and Reconstruct.

He pointed out that the exhibition will move during the coming period to localities in Khartoum State and a number of cities in Sudan.

Support Khartoum: Sudan calls on the international community to back its industrial recovery program.

In a separate context, the Sudanese government called on the international community to support the industrial recovery program currently being prepared in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

In his speech at the roundtable on green manufacturing in the context of crises, held as part of the Vienna International Conference, Sudan’s representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, Magdi Ahmed Fadl, stressed the importance of taking into account Sudan’s particularities and its great potential in the field of renewable energies, which contributes to enhancing food security in Africa and the Arab world, supporting green mining, and contributing to achieving peace.

Regarding economic developments in the country, the Supreme Economic Committee in Sudan, chaired by Prime Minister Kamil Idris, issued a series of decisions a few days ago aimed at stabilizing the exchange rate and enhancing the country’s economic performance.

According to the Sudanese News Agency, the committee took important measures, most notably controlling and regulating the import of luxury goods, activating the role of the ministries of the economic sector to maximize and diversify exports, in addition to developing policies that encourage expatriates to transfer their money through official channels.
