From Brazzaville, Egypt celebrates the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution and affirms the depth of its partnership with Congo.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Congolese capital, Brazzaville, celebrated the seventy-fourth anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution, in a national occasion that reflected the historical significance of the revolution and its role in shaping the features of the modern Egyptian state, and also affirmed the strength of the relations that unite Egypt and the Republic of Congo.

Diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations

Ambassador Iman Yaqout, Egypt’s ambassador to Congo, held an official celebration on the occasion of the national holiday, in the presence of a large number of senior Congolese officials, along with members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations and the Egyptian community.

High-level governmental and diplomatic participation

The celebration was attended by the Congolese government representative, Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, Gustave Fulgance Adekole Gome, as well as the Minister of State and Permanent Secretary of the Ministerial Committee for Regional Waters, the Secretary General of the Congolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, the Mayor of Brazzaville, and prominent leaders of the Congolese Labour Party.

The celebration was also attended by a large number of graduates of training programs organized by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, as well as ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations accredited to Congo, and members of the Egyptian community.

Egypt's achievements top the ambassador's speech

During the celebration, Ambassador Iman Yaqout delivered a speech in which she affirmed that Egypt is witnessing a comprehensive renaissance in various sectors, thanks to development projects and economic reforms that have strengthened the path of sustainable development, noting that this year’s celebration coincides with an important historical occasion, which is the 200th anniversary of the launch of Egyptian diplomacy, one of the oldest diplomacies in the region and the world.

A growing partnership and promising prospects for cooperation

The ambassador touched on the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Congo, stressing Cairo’s keenness to enhance cooperation with African countries in various fields, especially education, capacity building and sustainable development, in order to consolidate the African partnership and serve common interests.

This celebration reflects Egypt’s continued role in the African continent and confirms that the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution is not only a national occasion, but also carries a message that affirms Egypt’s commitment to supporting regional cooperation and strengthening ties of friendship with its brothers in Africa, foremost among them the Republic of Congo.
