Egypt's ambassador to Djibouti, during his interview with DjibLive, affirms the strength of the partnership between the two countries.

He revealed future opportunities available to expand areas of cooperation.

DjibLive conducted an exclusive interview with Ambassador Abdul Rahman Raafat Khattab, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of DjiboutiThis is within the framework of its media mission aimed at highlighting the most prominent diplomatic and developmental issues.

Egypt's ambassador to Djibouti affirms the strength of the partnership between the two countries.

The dialogue addressed the strength of the historical relations and strategic partnership that unites Egypt and Djibouti, in addition to the prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a number of vital areas, including trade, investment, education, health, culture and development.

The dialogue also touched on future opportunities available to expand areas of joint cooperation, and the unified vision of the two countries towards supporting regional stability, promoting economic growth, and expanding the scope of rapprochement and communication between the peoples.

During the meeting, the ambassador emphasized the depth of Egyptian-Djiboutian relations and their continuous development, reflecting the shared political will to strengthen partnership in various sectors, serving the interests of both peoples and supporting development efforts in the Horn of Africa region.

He pointed out that the cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti represents an important model for African partnerships based on mutual respect and the exchange of interests and experiences, stressing the importance of continuing joint work to promote investments and open new horizons for future cooperation.

At the conclusion of the dialogue, DjibLive expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the ambassador for the warm welcome and for the important insights and analyses he provided during the meeting, stressing that this dialogue reflects the strength and depth of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Djibouti looks to benefit from Egypt's experience in local administration

In a separate context, the Minister of State in charge of Decentralization in Djibouti received Omar Hussein OmarThe Egyptian Ambassador to Djibouti, Abdel Rahman Raafat, met to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of local development and capacity building.

The minister reviewed the priorities for the next phase, which include supporting the local development path and strengthening the role of local communities, in addition to developing the irrigation and water resources management sectors, agriculture and horticulture, and livestock breeding, as well as revitalizing the tourism sector, in order to achieve balanced and sustainable development in various regions of the country.

Djibouti intends to improve the efficiency of local institutions in cooperation with Egypt.

He also expressed Djibouti’s desire to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the areas of local administration and regional development, through the exchange of experiences, training programs and capacity building, which would contribute to raising the efficiency of local institutions.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador affirmed his country’s readiness to support the efforts of the Ministry of Decentralization in Djibouti, especially in the areas of training, transfer of expertise and technical support, noting Egypt’s desire to share its experience in water resource management, modern agriculture and local development.

Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two countries, and working to develop cooperation in various fields, in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and supports the path of development and stability in Djibouti.

In addition, the Egyptian ambassador congratulated the Djiboutian minister on assuming his post, stressing Cairo’s keenness to strengthen cooperation relations with Djibouti in various fields, reflecting the depth of the fraternal ties between the two countries.

For his part, the minister expressed his appreciation for this visit, praising the historical relations that unite the two countries, and stressing his country’s interest in expanding the horizons of cooperation with Egypt, especially in sectors related to the work of his ministry.
