The stadium in Kosti City, White Nile State, witnessed the first Dignity Marriage Carnival, which saw the completion of the marriage ceremonies and procedures for 300 young men and women, in a large social celebration in which government officials, community and popular leaders participated, within the framework of an initiative aimed at supporting youth and promoting the values of solidarity and family stability.

The event was attended by the Governor of White Nile State, Lieutenant General Qamar al-Din Muhammad Fadl al-Mawla, and the Chairman of the National Committee for Mobilization and Armed Popular Resistance, Lieutenant General Bashir Makki al-Bahi, along with members of the State Security Committee, members of the State Government, and leaders of the Native Administration and Sufi orders, amidst a large public presence.

Dignity Marriage Carnival in the White Nile

Lieutenant General Bashir Makki Al-Bahi affirmed that the Dignity Marriage Initiative is a community program aimed at supporting young people and honoring those who have contributed to the armed forces. He commended the initiative's implementation in the states of White Nile and Kassala and called for its expansion to include the remaining states, given its positive social impact in building families and strengthening community stability.

For his part, the Governor of White Nile State explained that the "Dignity Marriage" initiative is a tribute to the young men who supported the armed forces during what he called the "War of Dignity," affirming the state government's continued support for social initiatives targeting youth and families. He also revealed plans to organize new phases of the project to accommodate additional couples getting married.

The governor praised the efforts of the Supreme Organizing Committee and all official and popular bodies that contributed to the success of the event, pointing to the importance of community partnership in implementing programs that alleviate the economic burdens on young people and help them form stable families.

For his part, the Director of the Social Development Sector in White Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Bardsoul, confirmed that the initiative came as a result of the combined efforts between official institutions and the local community, and reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity, noting that the Supreme Committee made great efforts to bring out the event in a manner befitting its social goals.

The head of the Employers Union in the White Nile State and head of the Supreme Committee for Dignity Marriage, Professor Mahdi Al-Tayeb Al-Khalifa, described the celebration as one of the most prominent social events that the state has witnessed recently, stressing that its success was achieved thanks to the cooperation of state institutions and various sectors of society, in addition to honoring the official bodies participating in the event.

The carnival is being organized as part of community efforts to support young people and help them overcome the economic and social challenges associated with the costs of marriage, through collective initiatives aimed at strengthening family bonds in Sudanese society.
