Details of Sisi's meeting with the heads of the Suez Canal Authority and the board of directors of the South Red Sea Shipyard Company

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met today with Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mr. Mustafa al-Dajishi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the South Red Sea Shipyard Company.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President was briefed, during the meeting, on the rates of navigation in crossing the Suez Canal during the fiscal year 2025/2026, as well as the rates of completion and the timetable set for launching the new maritime units during the coming period.

He stressed the need to continue working on localizing the marine units industry to meet national needs within the canal and Egyptian ports, serve the river transport sectors, and open up to foreign markets for export in partnership with the private sector.

He also directed that the highest quality standards be adhered to, the specified timeframe for completing the work be observed, occupational safety and health requirements be applied, and continuous training for technical workers be ensured.

Updates on the fiberglass manufacturing plant setup

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the President also followed up on the progress of the fiberglass factories at the Suez Canal Modern Boats Company, in partnership between the Suez Canal Authority and the South Red Sea Shipyard Company, where His Excellency was briefed on the construction of a number of fiberglass boats, which included the completion of the hull of three cruise launches to serve maritime and Nile tourism.

The official spokesperson explained that the meeting also included a review of the executive status of the construction of a series of twelve “Rizk” high-seas fishing vessels, according to the latest global technology, in addition to following up on the developments in the manufacture of a river bus with a capacity of sixty passengers to work for the benefit of the Cairo Governorate.

The President also followed up on the progress of building the “Azm” class marine tugboats with a pulling power of ninety tons, stressing the need to adhere to all quality and safety standards.
