Investigations revealed that the girl’s ordeal began after she joined a WhatsApp group belonging to the accused, through which he was able to communicate with her, according to the newspaper “L’Observateur”.

The incident occurred on October 14, 2024, when the trap fell on the teenager, after her mother had dropped her off at her school in Nguyekhok.

The girl then got into a car rented by the accused, who took her to a hotel in Salley Portdale. To calm her fears, the man claimed it was his aunt's house, took her into a room, and assaulted her.

The teenager, under pressure from her aunt, revealed what had happened and the harassment she had been subjected to. When her mother found out, she searched her phone and found pornographic content and scandalous messages that terrified her.

Before the judge, the accused tried to portray himself as a victim of deception, claiming that the minor had initiated the meeting. The prosecution rejected this claim, especially after the newspaper “Future Media Group” (GFM) revealed that the victim’s mother denounced during the session an attempted bribery: the man allegedly offered the family one million CFA francs and gold jewelry to cover up the relationship through a forced marriage.

The prosecutor has requested that B. Die be imprisoned for three years, while the plaintiff is demanding compensation of 10 million CFA francs for the damages suffered by the young woman, who is now trying to recover.

GFM radio reported that the court adjourned the case for deliberation until May 7.
