The Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Scholars organized the national preliminary stage of the third edition of the prestigious Hadith memorization competition, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at its headquarters in Banankabogo.
After a day full of competition, three candidates were selected to represent Mali in the grand international finals, which will bring together winners from 49 countries.
50 candidates
This competition is in full compliance with the recommendations of the Supreme Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Scholars.
The initial selection phase brought together fifty candidates from various schools and centers for memorizing the Holy Quran, from Bamako and other regions of the country.
Through this initiative, the foundation aims to encourage African youth to embrace the teachings of the Prophet.
40 Hadiths
The main objective is to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and moderation conveyed by these sacred texts.
The candidates competed in three categories: Category 1 (40 recent graduates – primary level), which was won by Ahmed Sow; Category 2 (30 recent graduates – intermediate level), which was won by Mohamed Diallo; and Category 3 (30 recent graduates – higher level), which was won by Boubacar Traore.
