The Egyptian Embassy in Zambia celebrates the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution

The Embassy of the Republic organized Egypt The Arabic language in Zambia held an official reception on the occasion of the seventy-fourth anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution, at the Egyptian Residence in the capital, Lusaka, amidst a prominent governmental and diplomatic presence.
The ceremony was hosted by Ambassador Mayada Essam Abdel Rahman, Egypt’s Ambassador to Zambia and Permanent Representative to COMESA, with wide participation from senior Zambian officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps, in addition to members of the Egyptian community.
The event was attended by Noriana Muneku, Undersecretary of the Zambian Ministry of Education, as a guest of honor representing the government, along with a number of senior officials, including Professor Ephraim Mushimfwa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, Thabo Kawana, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Max Mudenda Choombe, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, Lois Mulube, Undersecretary of the Cabinet, as well as Ireen Musonda, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, and Lemmy Kafwamfwa, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The celebration was also attended by Chileshe Mpondo Kapwepwe, Secretary General of COMESA, and Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Qadah, Assistant Secretary General for Programs, in confirmation of the depth of Egyptian relations with the countries of the continent and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
The celebration comes as part of the Egyptian diplomatic missions’ keenness to commemorate national occasions and strengthen ties with sister countries, in order to support partnership and joint cooperation on various levels.
In another context, the Egyptian Football Association has officially entered the race to host the Spanish Super Cup for the 2025-2026 season, which is scheduled to be held early next year with the participation of 4 of Spain’s top clubs, led by Barcelona, the league title holder.
The tournament, which has been held in its adopted format since 2020, takes place outside of Spain, bringing together the league champion and runner-up, along with the King's Cup champion and runner-up, in semi-final matches followed by the final.
The Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the Spanish Football Federation has not yet decided on the host country for the next edition, especially after Saudi Arabia was excluded from organizing it due to the tournament coinciding with the Asian Cup, scheduled from January 7 to February 5.
The newspaper added that several countries have submitted official bids to host the event, most notably Egypt, Qatar, the United States, China and Mexico, amid widespread interest from various football federations to obtain the rights to organize it.
